Do you take a lot of digital pictures? Do you never delete your photos and just save them forever? Are they gathering dust on your hard drive? Put your portfolio to work by selling your extra photos to micro stock agencies! You'll make money and get to see your pictures in magazines and on websites. And if you fancy yourself a digital illustrator, you can sell your digital illustrations to the same microstock agents too!
Take for instance this crane I took a picture of when I was on vacation. I thought it was cool at the time, but no one in my family really wants to see that. But... did you know there are companies hungry to buy this picture from me? They would have to either hire some photographer for thousands of dollars to go take pictures like this, or just log into a micro stock site and buy it from me for a couple of dollars.
The trick to making money in microstock.
In micro stock photography, your pictures sell for small amounts, but you keep FULL rights to them. What this means is that you can sell your images through several microstock agents, again and again.
Example 1: one so-so picture you want to sell for $100 equals no sales, and everyone thinking you are out of your mind.
Example 2: one so-so picture you want to sell for $1 on seven micro stock sites, equals $7 a month. What if you put ten photos on those sites? That's $70 a month.. BUT EVERY MONTH AFTER THAT TOO!
